I suggest not going to Hollister or any store similar to it. Why? They have ridiculous prices.
Go places like wetseal, delias, forever21 & alloy. Rue21 is a great store – but they don’t have an online shopping. Look for clearance & sale items.

Don’t let yourself fall in love with something out of your price range when you shop for school clothes. If you really really want that shirt, the one that’s way over-priced, save up for it later, but for school clothes only buy the low prices.
When shopping, make sure you have time! Go to the stores you never thought you would, and if you see something cheap, unless it’s so cheap it’s ridiculous, maybe write down the store name, and item on a piece of paper, then come back if you’re sure it’s a great deal. If you’re rushed, you’ll go for the obvious. If it’s a big store, look in the places most others wouldn’t.
I love shopping at a store called MaxRave, but I’m not sure if there’s more than one of them, and they don’t do online services. It’s really inexpensive, on sale, cute skinny jeans for less than 15$ and shirts on sale for 3$. Plus their clothes are really really cute.
If you want like brand-name clothes, try going to one of thoes second-hand stores. I think one is called Plato’s Closet or something like that. Oh, and when you go to the mall or wherever, maybe allow yourself three small splurges. :D And that’s all of my ideas for inexpensive clothes.
