How can I raise money to donate things to soldiers in Iraq?
♥Miss Dancer♥ asked:
I volunteer at a nursing home, and my newest project with the seniors is trying to get things for soldiers. My plan is to have them knit blankets, scarves, and gloves. I also want to bake goodies with them and have a bake sale so we can get money to buy other things like socks, deodorant, gum, etc to them. Do you have any other ideas of ways we can raise money for it?
Thank you!

They could also write them notes/letters wishing them a Happy Thanksgiving/Merry Christmas/Happy New Year.
Good luck with your project, and that’s very nice of you to do with the seniors.

Aw, that’s so nice
You could try making Christmas cards and ornaments and selling them.

Put on a performance of some sorts and sell tickets for it.

Have a dinner at a local restaurant and spread the word, have people pay $10 per person and pay for their own food, it should work well. A group yard sale would be good too.
Oh, by the way, this is the second question that has made my day. Thanks for all your efforts.
